The Fender Custom Shop's 1960 Tele Custom harks back to Leo Fender's early vision with its double-bound sorted Alder body in a Faded Chocolate 3-Tone Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer, which ages beautifully and enhances the body's natural resonance. The plain grain Maple neck offers a smooth vintage feel, featuring a 9.50" radius, '60s style oval C shape, sorted for dark Rosewood fingerboard, 21 narrow tall frets, a 1.650" nut width, and a 25.5" scale length, making it a joy to play. The '63 Tele neck pickup and Twisted Tele bridge pickup deliver classic Tele twang, ensuring this guitar is bursting with tone and character.
Please Note: This guitar is Pre-Owned but is in Excellent condition. It has acquired some beautiful lacquer checking to the finish, as is typical of nitro guitars, and the bridge saddles have been replaced with brass. The original saddles are included in the case. The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop 1960 Tele Custom they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
The double-bound sorted Alder body is finished in a majestic Faded Chocolate 3-Tone Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer. Authentically aged, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The plain grain Maple neck has a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius, 60 style oval C shape, sort for dark Rosewood fingerboard, 21 6105 narrow tall frets, a 1.650" Nut Width and a 25.5"scale length, it's a real joy to play.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop 1960 Tele Custom needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang.
