The very definition of innovation incarnate, the SA-126 is a hybrid between semi-hollow and solid body guitar: think chambered/center block solid body blended with a bolt-on neck, then kitted out with features most frequently associated with high performance guitar brands such as a slim neck, jumbo frets and higher output pickups. The brainchild of Wolfgang Van Halen, the instrument was created with versatility in mind, striking the perfect balance between pummeling rhythm tones and lightning- fast lead runs.
This SA-126 Special begins with a chambered Mahogany body paired up with a basswood centerblock which helps with added stability and tone. Capped with a stunning figured Maple top finished with an eye-catching Tobacco Burst stain. Its really resonant and perfectly balanced, great for ripping up and down the board.
The graphite reinforced Mahogany neck boasts a natural satin back, a 12"-16" compound radius, Ebony fingerboard, 22 jumbo frets and is carved and features a modified C back shape. It really is a treat to play and the riffs just fall out of this beaut!
A guitar this cool would be totally useless if the sound didnt match the awesome visuals. It features a set of the brand-new SA-126 humbuckers which have been carefully designed and voiced by legendary pickup designer, Tim Shaw! These pickups will handle just about anything you throw at them, theyre super dynamic and responsive. Other features include a Harmonica bridge and stop bar tailpiece, oversized strap buttons, and keystone tuning pegs.
