The BOSS GT-1000CORE is a compact yet powerful multi-effects processor for guitar and bass. It incorporates the complete internal sound processing capabilities of the flagship GT-1000 model within a single, portable stompbox format. This design allows musicians to access a comprehensive array of effects and amp modelling without the need for a large and cumbersome setup.
A key advantage of the GT-1000CORE is its versatility. It offers 24 simultaneous effects blocks, including the ability to run two different amplifier models concurrently. This extensive processing power, coupled with numerous series and parallel routing options, provides users with virtually unlimited possibilities for sound creation. The unit features over 140 unique amp and effect types, encompassing classic BOSS effects, vintage stompbox emulations, and advanced Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) effects.
The GT-1000CORE boasts exceptional sound quality due to its high-specification digital processing. It operates with 32-bit AD/DA converters, 32-bit floating-point processing, and a 96 kHz sampling rate. This ensures a pristine audio signal path and accurate reproduction of the modelled amps and effects.
A significant feature is BOSS's AIRD (Augmented Impulse Response Dynamics) technology. This innovation aims to deliver a natural feel and optimised integration with various external devices, ensuring consistent and reliable sonic performance across different playing environments. AIRD technology is deeply integrated into the GT-1000CORE's amplifier models, contributing to their authentic sound and response regardless of the connected output.
For seamless integration into existing setups, the GT-1000CORE includes two send/return loops, which can be used for incorporating external effects pedals, employing the four-cable method with traditional amplifiers, or providing separate direct outputs to a PA system or recording interface. The unit also offers 16 user locations for loading custom WAV-format speaker impulse responses, further expanding its sonic flexibility.
The GT-1000CORE is designed for both live performance and studio use. It supports external control via footswitches, expression pedals, USB, and TRS MIDI, allowing for comprehensive real-time manipulation of parameters and patch switching. A dedicated control out function enables the switching of amplifier channels directly from the unit.
For recording applications, the GT-1000CORE functions as a USB audio/MIDI interface, facilitating computer-based recording and editing. It includes a dedicated recording mode with various built-in speaker and microphone simulations. The onboard looper is a valuable tool for practice, sound design, and enhancing live performances. Users can also access BOSS Tone Exchange to download and share Livesets created with the GT-1000CORE.
The unit also features an innovative Stompbox function, which simplifies the process of using common effects settings across multiple different patches. Ultra-fast patch switching and delay carryover ensure smooth transitions between sounds during performance. A dedicated mode is also included for bass guitarists, offering tailored amplifier models and effects.
The Version 2.0 update further enhances the GT-1000CORE with the addition of new "X" series amplifier models (X-Ultra, X-Optima, X-Titan) that leverage AIRD and MDP technologies for advanced tonal shaping and dynamic response. The update also includes new bass preamps and drive effects, expanding the unit's sonic palette even further.
