Discover D'Ambrosio: A Californian Innovation
Drawing inspiration from California's breathtaking coastline, the D'Ambrosio Series showcases a harmonious blend of tradition and cutting-edge design in guitars. Handcrafted in California, these guitars seamlessly merge classic aesthetics with contemporary playability, reflecting the Golden State's legacy of innovation.
Introducing the FullerTone Neck
At the heart of the D'Ambrosio Series is the FullerTone neck, a pioneering creation by master luthier Otto D'Ambrosio. This distinctive long-tenon, 2-bolt connection transforms the conventional neck-to-body joint, enhancing resonance transfer, sustain, and stability. With three times more contact between the neck and body, the FullerTone design ensures flawless tonal continuity from headstock to bridge, setting a new benchmark for bolt-on neck guitars.
Beautiful Tonewoods with a Story
This D'Ambrosio guitar features the stunning wildfire-burned Phoenix Pine tonewood, sustainably sourced with a commitment to conservation. The body, finished with a sandblasted nitrocellulose lacquer, presents a unique double cutaway style that exudes both elegance and functionality. Complemented by a North American Hard Rock Maple FullerTone neck, flat sawn for superior strength, and a Madagascar Rosewood fretboard, this guitar delivers unmatched tonal depth and clarity.
Thoughts on the Future of Solid Body Guitars
Under Otto D'Ambrosio's visionary guidance, the D'Ambrosio Series embodies a perfect fusion of aesthetic beauty and functional excellence, heralding a new era for solid-body electric guitars. In collaboration with esteemed artisans and suppliers, every detail of this guitar reflects an unwavering dedication to quality and innovation.
Expanded Tonal Options
The precision-engineered Gotoh 510 tuners and the MannMade USA tremolo enhance resonance and playability, leaving no vintage stone unturned in the quest for modern perfection. The guitar's neck, with a medium round shape, features a hand-rubbed gun metal oil finish, ensuring a comfortable grip and smooth playability.
Innovative Electronics
The guitar also features the exceptional KingTone Switch, unlocking a world of tonal possibilities with six preset tone positions and 16 treble bleed settings. The KingTone Switch introduces tones you never knew your guitar could produce, adding fatness and edge to your sound, improving vibrato tracking, and making string bending more articulate. It imparts a valve-like, hollow quality to each note. With the new treble-bleed option, you can fine-tune your settings across 16 options, offering both common configurations and unexplored possibilities, such as enhancing the top-end when the volume is reduced or selecting subtle settings that balance treble retention. The KingTone Switch is 100% passive, requiring no battery. Its true bypass design ensures that your normal tone remains unaffected when not engaged, but once you try it, you might never want to go back!
The ToneKing Sounds:
- True Bypass: Your normal tone is 100% unaffected.
- Treble Bleed Engaged: Retain high-end clarity when rolling down the volume, eliminating dull tones.
- Hendrix Edge: Fuller, warmer, more focused tone.
- 100% Vaughan: Valvey bite with lots of attack, fat, and warmth.
- Albert: The switch is named in his honour, offering his signature sound.
- BB: Extremely fat and thick, yet maintaining top-end bite.
Meticulous Construction and Premium Components
The D'Ambrosio guitar is equipped with Lollar Special Sixty-Four pickups controlled by a Schaller MegaSwitch S+T 5-way switch. The master volume and tone control, utlise CTS 250K audio pots and Orange Drop capacitors, provide precise tonal shaping capabilities. The guitar's scale length of 25.5 inches and a nut width of 1 11/16 inches, with a hand-cut unbleached bone nut, ensure optimal string action and playability across its 24 frets adorned with clay vintage dot inlays.
