Cordoba Limited Edition Luthier Select 25th Anniversary Double Top | Natural
Only 25 Made Worldwide - Signed By CEO/Founder Tim Miklaucic
This stunning Cordoba is a very rare piece - one of only 25 made worldwide (three for the UK), to celebrate their 25th anniversary. The label inside is signed by Cordoba's CEO/Founder Tim Miklaucic. It is very different to standard models in the Cordoba range in that it has a double-top construction (a honeycomb Nomex core in-between two pieces of Solid Western Red Cedar), an unusual wood choice for the back and sides (stunning Palo Escrito) and a player-facing sound-port with removable magnetic cover (allowing the player to hear and enjoy a sound akin to what the audience are hearing from the front).

The Luthier Select Series is particularly exciting as it shows Cordoba paying respect to key guitar builders from the past and with fantastic results. These guitars are handmade by a small and dedicated group of elite luthiers and they show Cordoba marrying their own experience as modern guitar builders with the greats of the past.

The ebony fingerboard on the Double Top is elevated. A feature that luthier-made classical guitars often employ, it is designed to give excellent access to the higher frets. They are often created by having the top of the guitar sloped down or sometimes by having a negative neck angle compared to the body of the guitar. Some classical guitarists prefer this design to the point of only playing guitars with raised fingerboards.
The guitar has fan bracing, a style pioneered on classical guitars by Antonio de Torres Jurado. This gives a far superior bass response and dynamics when compared to a ladder-braced classical. In this case the fan bracing is done in the style of Esteso and features five fans, all hand-carved in the 1890s-1930s style with exceptional projection and balance of tone.
The rosette (unique to this model) is particularly detailed and beautiful, handmade from rosewood and engraved mother of pearl. A final touch of beauty comes from a thinly applied coat of finish used to protect the guitar without stopping the free vibration of the wood. An excellent quality arched, wooden and humidified case is supplied with the guitar to keep it safe so that it may be enjoyed for many decades.
