It does have a small chip on the back of the body near the bottom strap pin - as seen in the product images - which we cannot confirm to be apart of Colling's ageing process. With a Honduran Mahogany solid body single cutaway design, finished in the incredible 1959 Faded Crimson, this is a serious guitar with a seriously cool look. With some really authentic lacquer ageing on display here this Collings has real vintage vibe going on! Equipped with a MojoAxe Compensated Wraptail bridge, this guitar offers great sustain and resonance with improved intonation whilst keeping the vintage aesthetic.
The Honduran Mahogany neck features a Rosewood fingerboard, with a 24.7/8" scale length and a 12" radius, it's comfortable and precise. With a super rockin' pair of Lollar P-90s, the 290 is a tonal powerhouse, delivering a wide variation of rich and detailed tones, the 290 is a real players guitar.
This beaut is handcrafted in Austin, Texas and it's the real deal. Complete with a hardcase, it's ready to hit the road!
