Martin 16 Series | D-16E - Ex-Display
A Dreadnought with a difference - The D-16E now at Peach Guitars.
I absolutely love this guitar. It was first featured at the 2017 NAMM show and i immediately noticed that this model felt different to to other Dreadnought's within the Martin range and i soon twigged that it had a thinner body. The guitar has the 000 body depth, so it feels a lot more comfortable when sitting down with the guitar, to me anyway! It also has a modified low oval neck with a high performance taper, which means it's an absolute pinch to play.
Cosmetically, Martin have made a few changes from the previous 16 series range, one of which is super sharp lookin' silver binding. It kind of has that "flip-flop" hot-rod car paint vibe to it, as it looks like it changes between white and silver, depending where the light is shining on the binding.
Check out the satin/brushed pearl open geared tuners. They work great and they look cool!
Constructed with a Sitka spruce top and sycamore back and sides. The D-16E still has the classic Martin tone but will undoubtedly appeal to fans of other acoustic guitar brands. It has a little more of modern voice and the playability is as good as anything else out there.
As an added bonus, the guitar is equipped with Fishman® Matrix VT Enhance electronics, which is a great sounding 'plug and play" pickup but sounds as good as any other market-leading acoustic guitar pickups.
The top has 3 very small dings measuring around 1.5 cm, this has no affect on the playability of the guitar. At this price it really is hard to beat!
Comes with Martin hardshell case.
