If you're a modeler enthusiast, the Powercab 112 Plus active speaker system is a must-have for your rig. Designed specifically for use with modellers, this active speaker system is responsible for at least half of your tone and determines how your modelling rig feels and responds to your playing. Featuring custom coaxial speakers with high-frequency compression drivers, the Powercab 112 Plus provides the benefits of a full-range, flat-response (FRFR) speaker system with the rapid transient response of guitar speakers. This results in a more authentic and familiar feel, making it an excellent option if you're happy with your modeller's onboard cabinet models and just want to hear the sound of your presets amplified. Simply connect your modeller to the Powercab, select Flat mode, and play away!
If you're looking for a more organic "amp-in-the-room" playing experience, bypassing the cabinet models in your presets and switching to Speaker Modelling mode is the way to go. This enables you to take advantage of proprietary onboard speaker models, which are not the same as either cabinet models or impulse responses. Modelled speakers range from classics such as "Greenback" and "Blue Bell" to modern designs and may be mixed or matched to your liking.
