The Carol Ann "Silk" Combo is the result of recent talks that we had with head honcho at Carol Ann, Alan Phillips. We always have customers asking for Amps with authentic sounding American Blackface cleans, with a sweet creamy breakup when cranked but in a back-friendly small combo format.
Carol-Ann already offer the amazing sounding "Satin" model which as all of the tones but it's a big ol' beast and is pretty loud too. So Alan essentially started this out as a lower powered Satin model but it turned into it's own thing entirely, when the 6V6 tubes were added into the mix.
"As with the 'Satin' model the 'Silk' is single channel pedal platform with integrated reverb, utilizing the same side chain tube driven reverb circuit we used in the Satin design.
It will feature a point to point style eyelet board and chassis mounted tube sockets and pots and as ever, each one will be built by the same guy who designed it, Alan Phillips.
This combo is a similar size to a Princeton and will be finished in smooth blonde tolex, black and gold grille, gold hardware, black and gold faceplate, cream knobs.
