This stunning Icon Classic, commissioned by John, recently graced Anderson's Instagram feed. The Icon model delivers vintage tone without any of the vintage drawbacks. Essentially, it boasts outstanding aesthetics, playability, and sound right out of the gate. Anderson's unique design touches merge seamlessly with the classic appeal of a full-sized S-style alder body, top jack input, and three numbered knobs. Alder, a staple wood in guitar construction since the late 1950s, imbues the instrument with a distinct "vintage tone" characterised by a rich, midrange-heavy sound. The 25.5" scale length stays true to tradition.
One of its standout features is the exquisite Satin Bullitt Green finish. Anderson is renowned for their impeccably smooth satin finishes. The neck upgrade to caramel maple ensures an exceptionally comfortable playing experience. Opting for a rosewood fingerboard complements the colour scheme beautifully. The satin-finished neck, featuring the 60's Vibe profile, offers a unique feel characterised by a gradual increase in depth from the 1st to the 12th fret, providing both comfort and stability across the fretboard.
With a nut width of 1 11/16" and Anderson's second-largest frets, the Heavy stainless steel frets, the playability is perfectly matched to this guitar. Stainless steel frets offer unparalleled smoothness, facilitating effortless string bends and vibrato. The fingerboard's 12 to 14-inch radius provides a perfect balance of comfort and playability, allowing for low action height and effortless string bending.
The hardware, chrome-plated with a vintage tremolo and modern locking tuners, combines classic aesthetics with contemporary functionality. The pickups include a VA 7.2 in the middle position, renowned for its vintage warmth with a slightly hotter output, and HFs in the humbucker positions, delivering a balanced tonal palette with focused midrange and musical upper-mids.
The switching arrangement offers versatility, with position 3 toggling between the middle pickup (push/pull tone control down) and neck and bridge pickups (push/pull tone control up), providing access to both traditional S-style and T/LP-style tones.
The guitar comes strung with .010-.046 Elixirs, and customisation options are available upon request as part of the included Peach Guitars setup. It arrives securely packaged in a Super Deluxe Hard Gig Bag for convenience and peace of mind during transport.
This guitar seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with a '60s vibe, inspiring players to pick it up and unleash their creativity. It's a truly unique and captivating instrument.
