Designed as an accessible entry point for musicians seeking a reliable, rich-sounding, and stage-ready instrument, this Deluxe model enhances the already impressive standard 214ce-K with a suite of aesthetic and tonal upgrades.
The foundation of the 214ce-K DLX is its layered Hawaiian koa back and sides, paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top. Koa is prized for its stunning visual beauty and warm, balanced tonal characteristics, while the torrefaction process applied to the Sitka spruce top simulates the ageing process, imparting a played-in warmth, resonance, and depth that is typically found in vintage instruments. This combination of tonewoods provides a rich, complex tone with excellent clarity and projection.
A significant upgrade in this Deluxe model is the use of Taylor's cantilevered variant of V-Class bracing. While the standard 214ce-K utilises standard X bracing, the DLX benefits from this advanced bracing pattern. This bracing system significantly enhances the guitar's sonic performance, delivering increased volume, sustain, and low-end power while maintaining exceptional clarity across the tonal spectrum. Like its standard counterpart, the 214ce-K DLX features a comfortable mahogany neck with a matte finish for smooth playability and a Crelicam ebony fretboard.
