The Peavey 6505 is one of the most highly regarded amps of all-time. You might know it by its previous name, the 5150, the legendary amp designed in collaboration with Eddie Van Halen. When Peavey and EVH parted ways in the early 2000’s, Peavey rebranded the 5150 as the 6505 and continued producing that glorious high-gain overdrive sound that is so instantly recognisable. Our friends at Synergy have spent the last 2 years painstakingly analysing these legendary amps to capture its tonal magic.
With the awesome Synergy 6505 Preamp module you can now access those legendary tones with a new level of convenience and affordability, it’s incredibly dynamic and features enough gain on tap for even the biggest of stages. With two 12AX7 preamp tubes the Peavey 6505 module features a true valve like tone that will always be present, detailed, and hopelessly addictive.
The Peavey 6505 module features two identical channels, each capable of nailing the amp's impressive range of grind. Both channels' Crunch setting (based on the Crunch setting of the Rhythm channel) goes from bluesy breakup to hard rock punch. Lead is all about the amp's beloved red (Lead) channel, famous for its midrange articulation, low-end punch, and aggressive cut. Mirror the channels and use one as a lead boost or footswitch between old- school crunch and thick leads; either way, you get authentic, all-tube Peavey 6505 tone.
This module also features a three-position switch on the PCB, which allows you to configure the input tube bass response to match the original circuit of the selected module. This will affect the feel and tightness.
