Design and Inspiration
The Powers Electric A-Type reflects Andy Powers' deep connection to San Diego's North County, where a vibrant mix of surfing, skateboarding, auto craft, music, art, and architecture shaped his creative vision. This cultural stew is embodied in the A-Type's sleek lines and timeless styling, reminiscent of classic cars and surfboards. The guitar's fully enclosed, slim hollowbody design ensures visual appeal from every angle while maintaining balance and playability.
Superior Playability
The A-Type is crafted with the player's comfort and ease of use in mind. Its lightweight, hollow body allows for effortless handling, whether you are sitting or standing. The contoured armrest and radiused body edges enhance comfort, while the neck's "just right" blend of dimensions provides a smooth transition into the unique split radius fretboard. This fretboard, flatter on the treble side, allows for easier string bending and a more expressive playing experience.

Central to the A-Type's sound are the FF42 (full Faraday) pickups. These pickups, made with 42-gauge wire and a full Faraday cage, deliver a warm, rich tone with exceptional clarity. The A-Type features the innovative CamTail bridge, a "camshaft tailpiece" designed by Andy Powers.
