Cast your mind back 10 or so years, Fender were at the top of their game. The American Standard was king, the undeniable workhorse that just about everybody was playing, and when you needed something with a little more under the hood, well, that’s where the Fender Elite came in. Back then it was hard to see how Fender could improve on these modern classics.

But improve they did! And here we sit in 2023, the American Standard has been superseded by the incredible American Professional Series, the go-to for players everywhere, and the Elite made way for the equally impressive American Ultra Series, a range of turbo charged wonders that take the Elite to a whole new level!

Taking form in the legendary Fender Corona facility, the American Ultra is arguably Fender’s most progressive series to date.

So let’s check out the big guns from this range. The Fender American Ultra Stratocaster and Telecaster. As you’d expect, many of the specs for these high performance instruments are shared across both models, so let’s dive in!

The American Ultra Series benefits from an Alder body, typically well balanced and comfortable, as all Strat's and Tele’s are, and with a selection of cool new takes on Fender finishes, such as Cobra Blue, Ultraburst and Arctic Pearl, it’s sure to catch the eye of your audience! They are super resonant and deliver a bell-like high end, punchy mids and robust lows with flawless precision. 

The Maple necks feature a 10"-14" compound radius for a superb modern playing action without any choking. With a modern D shape profile and 22 medium jumbo frets, it offers a really comfortable playing experience. Fretboard wise, you’re offered the traditional options of either Maple or Rosewood,  you can’t beat the classics, right! The tapered heel allows for easy access right up the neck and the rolled fingerboard edges offer hours of playing comfort. 

A trio of Fender Ultra Noiseless single coils provide classic Strat spank without any hum or buzz. Modern and precise, but still retaining that classic Fender vibe, these pickups are an incredible step up in clarity and articulation. The Strat is also available as an HSS, benefiting from the insanely versatile Double Tap Humbucker at the bridge. For the Tele you get the same Ultra Noiseless single coils but voiced for the Telecaster. Both models feature an S-1 switch for even greater tonal variation and exploration!
