We could sit here and preach about the mesmerising and pioneering talents of Chet Atkins, and believe me, we’d love to do that, but as much as we love Chet, what we really want to bring your attention to is the Gretsch G6120T-BK Vintage Select ‘56 Chet Atkins “Dark Eyes”. A stunning repro of the famed ‘50s prototype used by the man himself in the mid ‘50s.

We all know about Chet’s affinity for Gretsch models, they were the catalyst for his incredible and insanely precise chordal and picking work, and he has a plethora of Gretsch signature models and tributes already, but do any look or sound as great as this “Dark Eyes”? Probably not!

Tuxedo Black and as slick as Chet’s playing, the Vintage Select ‘56 features sealed top Gold Sparkle F-Holes. In case you’re unsure of what that means, this guitar has a solid top and the F-Holes are aesthetic and not actually cut in. This really helps reduce the risk of unwanted feedback and hum at higher volumes, and man do they look great in that thick Gold Sparkle, the perfect compliment to the flawless Black.

Style is important but really, as guitarists, we just want a guitar that feels and sounds great, right? Well, this Gretsch has a neck to die for. Crafted from Maple, and with a Rosewood board, it boasts a Standard “U” profile with 22 frets, a 12” radius and super rad Aged Pearloid wide-block inlays!
