An absolutely killer looking Custom Series Idris RS. There is something so special about the Custom models. This one looks so unique and cool.
Originally apart of Novo's Limited Edition Rhett Shull Reverb-Only run, John was able to get a hold of this special guitar at NAMM 2025. It's a super cool coodercaster-inspired version of Novo's Idris model that originally was designed with a lapsteel pickup in bridge position but was changed to the double Gold Foils it has now - leaving this aesthetic and resonant chamber behind the metal plate.
The Novo Idris RS utilises swamp ash for the body wood and tempered maple for the neck. This choice of materials contributes to the guitar's overall resonance, providing a balanced tonal profile that complements the pickups. The fingerboard, made of rosewood, adds a touch of warmth to the tonal spectrum.
The Medium 'C' neck carve and a scale length of 25.5" ensure a comfortable playing experience. A 9.5"-14" fingerboard radius further enhances playability, accommodating various playing styles and techniques.
Equipped with a duo of Novo/Lollar Gold Foil pickups, this guitar is super reactive to picking dynamics and makes for an incredibly versatile set. If you play softly, the fundamental tones are round and full and come to the forefront. Increase your pick attack and you add more high harmonic overtones.
The Novo Idris RS is equipped with a Chopped Tele bridge with compensated brass saddles for excellent tone and accurate intonation.
Stringjoy 10-48 strings and a 1.65" nut width contribute to the guitar's overall playability, ensuring a balanced tension and comfortable fretting. The inclusion of a Novo Deluxe Padded Gig Bag provides practical protection, making it an ideal companion for musicians on the move.
