Back in 2021, our friends over at Gibson acquired the Mesa Boogie brand and promised to take their iconic designs to new heights. Headed up by Master Designer Randall Smith, this new era of Mesa Boogie promises incredible tone and unprecedented reliability.

The MESA/Boogie Badlander Collection, crafted by Randall Smith and his team in Petaluma, California, offers modern rock and metal players the punch, power, and gain they crave. With a tighter, meaner, and more aggressive take on the Dual Rectifier concept, the Badlander addresses player feedback for refined highs and lows, less mid-scoop, and a touch of British influence alongside its American-voiced gain. Whether running direct with CabClone technology or blasting through a 4x12 cabinet, the Badlander sets a new standard for heavy tone.

The Badlander 25 offers the iconic Rectifier-inspired sound and performance found in its larger counterparts, the Badlander 100 and 50. It presents a compact, yet fiery option with low power, catering to those who don't require high wattage. Despite its smaller size, it maintains the same straightforward 2-channel design, featuring Clean, Crunch, and Crush modes in each channel, powered by EL84 tubes. This smaller rendition possesses its own fierce sonic personality and intricate harmonic richness.

While the essential features and options from the larger models are preserved, notable changes are made to the power section, transformers, and chassis. In terms of tone, it's difficult to pick a favourite among the three models, as each offers its distinct character and versatility. However, the Badlander 25 stands out for its bold attitude and ease of portability, making it a top choice for musicians on the move.

The Badlander 25 boasts a versatile global 25/10 Power Switch, offering users two distinct power options. With 2 EL84 power tubes running in Class A/B Triode mode, the amplifier delivers lush harmonics and a smooth, liquid feel at lower volumes, resulting in a 10-Watt output. Alternatively, activating Mesa's proprietary Dyna-Watt Class A/B Pentode configuration with the 2 EL84s unleashes maximum power, punch, and clarity, delivering an impressive 25 Watts of output. This design allows players to tailor their sound to suit different playing environments and preferences, whether seeking rich harmonic textures or raw power and clarity.

Furthermore, the Badlander 25 is a dream for recording enthusiasts, featuring an onboard CabClone IR with Channel Specific IR Assignment of 8 virtual Cabinets and a Reactive Load for seamless DI. This innovative feature, combined with the amp's clip-friendly power range, makes it the most versatile and recordable Recto ever, even in "silent mode" when using headphones or unable to use a traditional cabinet.
