Back in the '50s and '60s Magnatone Electronics were a really key player in the development of tube amps, finding favour with players such as Lonnie Mack and Neil Young, they were a prominent amp manufacturer up to the mid-1970s. With the help of ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons, Magnatone was revived in 2013 with a range of vintage inspired tone machines!
The 80th anniversary model really nails that classic and iconic tone, combining both the Mk I and MK II models into one super versatile tone machine. The Magnatone Super Fifty Nine M-80 is a 45 watt, EL-34 powered tube guitar amplifier. With tonnes of grit and plenty of headroom, this powerhouse features the low to medium gain ability of the MK II with the super useful extra gain stage of the original MK I, which can be utilised through the super handle gain select footswitch.
With a British voiced master volume in conjunction with a 3-way EQ control you can really sculpt this amp to your own personal taste. This amp really is for everyone, and thanks to the tube buffered effects loop this amp works as a great platform.
The matching limited edition 2x12 cabinet is loaded with Magnatone Custom 12" Ceramic Magnet speakers which sounds brilliant clean and break up beautifully when pushed, they really are the perfect partner.
It is beautifully decorated with a blonde cabinet covering with a golden sparkle grill cloth, it looks super slick. It is further enhanced through smaller more intricate details like the Gold Piping, 14 Karat Gold Plated chevrons and an amber jewel indicator lens, the attention to detail is truly mind blowing.
Both the head and cabinet come with unique certificates of authenticity, if you are a massive ZZ Top fan then this is the set up for you.
