Lollar have stayed true to the original voicing of the pickups that Charlie Christian played. Compared to other large single-coils, their Charlie Christian pickups sound warmer, with wider dynamic range and more touch sensitivity. They have very little compression and a flat EQ response. This neck pickup is made for solidbody guitars.

It is a unique size pickup, and will not drop in to the existing pickup cavity on nearly any production guitar. It requires modification to the body and pickguard in nearly all cases unless the instrument is custom built for that pickup.
