JHS Pedals Volture | Utility
Voltage Attenuator To Replicate Dying Batteries For Analogue Pedals
Introducing the JHS Volture, a game-changing device that revolutionises vintage fuzz circuits and analog pedals. With the Volture, you can precisely trim the input voltage to replicate the tone of a dying battery effortlessly. Designed for versatility, it works wonders on any fully analog pedal, unearthing trippy sounds lurking within your favourite overdrive or distortion. From gated to distorted and glitchy fuzz tones, the Volture offers a range of possibilities. Its adjustable voltage output, consuming only 10mA, ensures optimal performance. The Volture is your ticket to unparalleled fuzz experiences, empowering you to redefine your sonic horizons.
**WARNING**
The Volture should not be paired with any digital/logic circuitry-based pedal, otherwise the user risks potential damage to the pedal being powered due to inadequate voltage. As long as your pedal is all analog, you’ll be fine. A dying battery never hurt an analog circuit.
Introducing the JHS Volture - a revolutionary device that unlocks the true potential of your vintage fuzz circuits and takes your tone to new heights. We all know that achieving the perfect fuzz tone has been the obsession of guitar players since the birth of the fuzz effect in the early sixties. Legends abound with tales of musicians going to extreme lengths to attain that elusive, magical fuzz experience. From Duane Allman freezing his fuzz pedal to cool down the transistors to Roger Mayer painstakingly modifying Hendrix's Fuzz Faces beyond recognition, the quest for fuzz perfection has been relentless.
One of the secrets that emerged from this pursuit was the power of a dying battery. Simple devices like fuzz circuits are incredibly sensitive to voltage, and even the slightest change can produce vastly different tones. Guitarists quickly caught on to this phenomenon and began draining their batteries to find that sweet spot for their fuzz pedal. It was a brilliant idea in theory, but who has the time or patience for such trial and error?
Enter the JHS Volture - the ultimate solution to harnessing the magic of a dying battery without the hassle. Developed in response to a certain unnamed guitarist's plea for a practical solution, the Volture is a modern-day marvel that allows you to precisely trim the input voltage and replicate the tone of a dying battery with ease. It's as simple as placing the Volture between your power supply and pedal, and you're ready to unleash a world of fuzz possibilities.
But the Volture isn't limited to vintage fuzz circuits alone. This versatile device works its wonders on any fully analog pedal, surprising you with trippy sounds hiding within your favourite overdrive or distortion. Its flexibility and adaptability make it a must-have for any guitarist seeking to push the boundaries of their tone.
With the Volture, you have complete control over your voltage. Input 9, 12, or 18VDC, and output an adjustable voltage ranging from 7.5VDC down to 1.25VDC. Experience the captivating allure of gated, distorted, possibly glitchy, but always sputtery fuzz sounds that will ignite your creativity. The Volture operates with an input voltage of 9VDC to 18VDC, centre negative, and an output voltage of 1.25VDC to 7.5VDC, centre negative. It consumes only 10mA in addition to the power when active and is best suited for use with pedals consuming less than 50mA.
As you turn down the voltage, the Volture's LED will dim in synchronisation with the voltage level, providing visual feedback. When you venture below 2V, the LED will gracefully fade away, signalling that your pedal may no longer have sufficient power to function optimally.
Don't settle for average fuzz tones. Elevate your sound and unlock the full potential of your vintage fuzz circuits and analog pedals with the JHS Volture. It's time to redefine your sonic landscape and embark on a fuzz-filled journey like no other.
**WARNING**
The Volture should not be paired with any digital/logic circuitry-based pedal, otherwise the user risks potential damage to the pedal being powered due to inadequate voltage. As long as your pedal is all analog, you’ll be fine. A dying battery never hurt an analog circuit.
