Custom LM-87 Pickups w/Coil-Tap - D-Profile Neck w/Compound Radius - TOM-Style Bridge with Fine Tuners
The Jackson Pro Series Signature Lee Malia LM-87 is a shred-ready guitar designed in collaboration with Bring Me The Horizon guitarist Lee Malia. Featuring an offset Surfcaster body made of okoume with a thin open-pore finish, a fast D-profile nyatoh neck, and a 12"-16" compound radius amaranth fingerboard, the LM-87 offers exceptional playability. Custom Jackson LM-87 pickups, including a bridge humbucker with push-pull coil-tap, provide versatile tone shaping, while the TOM-style bridge with anchored tailpiece and fine tuners ensures tuning stability. This guitar blends vintage aesthetics with modern performance for a powerful playing experience.

Lee Malia, the driving force behind the Grammy-nominated British metal band Bring Me The Horizon, has teamed up with Jackson Guitars to create a signature instrument that embodies his aggressive playing style and intricate musical vision: the LM-87. This guitar is a finely tuned instrument designed for the demands of modern metal and beyond.
The LM-87's offset Surfcaster body shape offers a unique blend of vintage aesthetics and contemporary appeal. Constructed from okoume, a tonewood known for its warm resonance and balanced response, the body is finished with a thin open-pore finish, allowing the wood's natural grain to shine through. This finish not only contributes to the guitar's organic look but also allows the wood to breathe, enhancing its tonal characteristics. The bound body and neck add a touch of elegance, while the distinct 3-ply pickguard and chrome hardware provide striking visual accents.
The neck of the LM-87 is crafted from three pieces of nyatoh, a wood similar to mahogany in tone and feel. This three-piece construction enhances stability and resists warping, crucial for players who utilise lower tunings. The neck features graphite reinforcement rods for added strength and stability. Its fast D-profile shape is designed for comfortable and effortless playing, facilitating both rapid riffing and complex soloing. The bound amaranth fingerboard boasts a 12"-16" compound radius, providing a comfortable feel for chording near the nut and effortless bending in the higher registers.
At the heart of the LM-87's sonic power are custom-wound Jackson LM-87 pickups. These pickups are designed to deliver a wide range of tones, from thick, crushing rhythm tones to searing lead tones. The bridge humbucker, equipped with a push-pull coil-tap, offers even greater versatility, allowing players to access brighter, single-coil-like tones for added clarity and definition. This feature makes the LM-87 suitable for a variety of musical styles beyond metal.
The guitar's hardware is designed for maximum stability and performance. The TOM-style bridge with anchored tailpiece and fine tuners ensures rock-solid tuning stability, even with heavy picking and aggressive playing. This is particularly important for players who utilise drop tunings, as it prevents unwanted string slippage and maintains accurate intonation.
The Jackson Lee Malia LM-87 is more than just a signature guitar; it's a high-performance instrument built for the modern guitarist. Its combination of vintage aesthetics, modern features, and versatile electronics makes it a powerful tool for players seeking a guitar that can handle everything from heavy riffs to intricate melodies. A gig bag is included for protection and portability.
