There are certain guitars that stand the test of time and with its timeless design, effortless playability and rich history, it's easy to see why the Gibson ES-335 remains such an iconic guitar. The Gibson Memphis Limited Edition 2018 '63 ES-335 is a really great addition to this illustrious line.
Featuring a 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple body with a Maple centre block and Spruce bracing, it's finished in a classic Sixties Cherry. Delivering a rich and authentic tone, the '63 ES-335 is super resonant and beautifully balanced; it just oozes that real Gibson mojo.
The neck is something special, crafted from Quartersawn Mahogany; it features a gorgeous bound Rosewood fingerboard, embellished with pearloid small block inlays. With 22 frets, a 12" radius and a 24.75" scale length it feels smooth and comfortable, equally at home playing slick lead work or heavy chord strumming. Complete with a Bigsby vibrato unit, it offers great tuning stability and intonation.
A pair of Memphis Historic Spec humbuckers delivers those classic '60s tones, deep, rich and resonant they offer great clarity. These PAF style pickups are slightly underwound and feature unbalanced coils for a truly historic sound.
With a Gibson hardcase, this guitar is vintage in every aspect but age!
