The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '51 Custom Nocaster they really hark back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision. We always try to keep a great selection of left handed guitars and this stunner is definitely one of our best!
A lightweight Ash body is finished in a classic Chocolate 3-Tone Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The NOS finish gives the appearance of a New Old Stock guitar, one that has been perfectly preserved since 1951 and doesn't feature any kind of ageing or relic work.
The AAA Flame Roasted Maple neck has a smooth, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius and 50085 frets, the '51 Nocaster features a 60 style oval C profile; it feels comfortable and robust, just like a vintage Fender should.
With the Telecaster design considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '51 Nocaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. Loaded with a duo of hand wound Fender pups, you certainly get that famous Tele' tone. With a Twisted Tele at the neck and a 50-51 Blackguard at the bridge it delivers a great dynamic range and a warm, beautifully rounded tone, it's a versatile and well balanced selection.
The original '51 Nocaster's are the stuff of legend, a real collector's piece. The Fender Custom Shop 1951 Nocaster, well that's a player's guitar!
