Back in October 2017, John took a trip to the CF Martin factory in Nazareth, Pennsylvania to spec out some of the finest Martin Custom Shop offerings in the world. With access to some of the most mind-blowing selection of tonewoods, you won't find a finer selection of Custom Shop Martin guitars anywhere!
With an incredible Adirondack Spruce top, this D14 offers a really dynamic and rounded tone. Adirondack Spruce is clear and loud, it's great for players who like a lot of attack. Pair that with the Wild Grain East Indian Rosewood back and sides and you have a tonal dream team, its visually and tonally stunning. The 14th fret join allows for great access up the neck and a perfectly poised and balanced playing experience.
The Mahogany neck is an absolute dream to play. With a Modified Low Oval with PA taper neck shape, 16" radius, 25.4" scale length and a 1 3/4" nut width, this Martin is supremely comfortable and smooth underhand. The Black Ebony fingerboard is the perfect partner for this neck; beautifully crafted it's a real treat to play. It's basically a custom shop version of a D-28
