The Heavy Aged treatment by the Murphy Lab, led by Master Artisan Tom Murphy, goes beyond the standard VOS or Ultra Light aging, delivering a road-worn aesthetic with prominent lacquer checking, significant wear patterns, and a heavily patinated look, making it appear as though its been played on stages for decades.
This 1964 ES-335 Reissue features a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body with a solid maple centerblock, delivering the resonant, woody tone that made the ES-335 a favorite among legends like Eric Clapton, as highlighted in historical references. The mahogany neck, attached with hide glue for enhanced durability and tone, boasts an authentic 64 medium C-shape profile, paired with an Indian rosewood fingerboard featuring small block cellulose nitrate inlays, a 12" radius, and 22 authentic medium-jumbo frets for smooth playability. Equipped with Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups (unpotted), this guitar offers the iconic PAF humbucking tonewarm, articulate, and versatileperfect for blues, rock, and jazz, with CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors ensuring a dead-on 1964 ES-335 sound.
