The Gibson Falcon 5 is a single channel amplifier with a focus on great tone and ease of use. The ultra-simple, pure signal path design has controls consisting of Volume and Tone, plus the addition of Reverb, which is often hard to find on an amplifier of this size! It features 1x 6V6 Power tubes and a 3x 12AX7 Preamp Tubes. Randall’s five decades of experience really shines through here, this amp might be small, but it’s certainly mighty in tone!
One of the key ingredients for a great overdriven tone is power amp overdrive, which is just one of the many areas that the Falcon 5 excels. It delivers a crisp, harmonically rich overdriven tone at a volume that’s ideal for both home use and studio recording. At full power this amplifier puts out 7 watts of power, and at low power it puts out 3 watts of power. These power modes can be chosen via the included wattage selector switch. The Gibson Falcon 5 1x10 Combo is ideal for those demanding touch-sensitive, nuanced response at the low end of the gain and power spectrum, with a harmonically rich blend of vintage power-amp overdrive when turned up.
All this vintage-flavoured magic is brought to life via the unique mid-enhanced voice from a 10” Jensen Blackbird Alnico speaker, which perfectly complements the volume range and single-ended Class A power section. With its modern refinements, high-end performance, and boutique construction, the Falcon 5 is a vintage amp dream delivered with a sturdy, consistent modern design ethos.
