This Custom Shop model incorporates classic J-45 features with distinct aesthetic enhancements inspired by the Les Paul Custom. The foundation of the J-45's renowned tone remains, featuring a solid Sitka spruce top for clear projection and balanced resonance, coupled with mahogany back and sides for warmth and depth. The mahogany neck features a comfortable SlimTaper profile, facilitating smooth playability across the 24.75" scale length. A bound ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays adds a touch of elegance and provides a smooth surface for fretting. The nut is made of bone, contributing to clear tone transfer.
Visually, the J-45 Custom distinguishes itself with an Ebony nitrocellulose lacquer finish, creating a sleek and sophisticated appearance. Multi-ply binding on the top, back, and headstock enhances the guitar's refined look. The bound Les Paul-style peghead showcases a unique Custom split diamond inlay in mother of pearl, further setting this model apart. Gold Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure stable and precise tuning.
The guitar's construction adheres to traditional methods, including hand-scalloped X-bracing for optimised resonance and a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint secured with hot hide glue for enhanced tonal coupling. The ebony bridge and bone saddle contribute to the guitar's clear and articulate sound. For amplified performance, the J-45 Custom is equipped with L.R. Baggs Session VTC electronics, offering convenient soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls. The guitar comes with a hardshell case for secure storage and transport.
