The Fender Player II Modified Telecaster is a modern take on a classic guitar design, engineered to meet the needs of contemporary players. This instrument focuses on practical upgrades that enhance playability and tonal versatility. The neck features a Modern "C" profile, designed for comfortable and efficient playing, and is finished with a satin urethane coating for a smooth feel. The 9.5-inch radius fingerboard, available in rosewood or one-piece maple, includes 22 medium jumbo frets and rolled edges, contributing to a comfortable playing experience.
The alder body provides the classic Telecaster tonal foundation, and is available in a range of finishes. The Player II noiseless pickups are designed to deliver the characteristic Telecaster twang and bite, while minimising unwanted noise. A push/pull switch on the tone control allows for changing the pickup wiring from parallel to series, providing a wider range of tonal options.
The bridge is a modern Telecaster design with six block brass saddles, which aim to improve intonation, sustain, and tuning stability. Short post locking tuning machines are included to increase sustain and tuning stability, and simplify string changes. A Graph Tech TUSQ nut and modern string tree are incorporated to further enhance tuning stability and sustain. The electronics include a treble bleed circuit to preserve high-end frequencies when the volume is reduced.
The design of the bridge plate allows for increased freedom of movement, which is useful for hybrid picking techniques. The combination of these features aims to provide a reliable and versatile guitar suitable for a range of musical styles.
