The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '61 Telecaster they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
A traditional Alder body is completed with an awesome Surf Green finish. The '61 Tele has a unique relic'd nitro finish, this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar but with all the tone and playability of a modern one. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes.
The Rift Sawn Maple neck has a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius, AAA sort for dark Rosewood fingerboard, 21 6105 frets, 25.5"scale length, and a 59 Esquire "C" neck shape, measuring out at .790" at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th. It's a real joy to play.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '61 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a duo of handwound Twisted Tele single-coils, it boasts a well balanced and dynamic selection.
This might just be one of the coolest example from the Fender Custom Shop we have ever seen, make sure to check this one out whilst you can
