Description

The Thunderbird E1 Bass by Epiphone is a modern reissue of one of the most innovative bass guitar designs ever produced. Originally crafted in the early 1960s at the Gibson and Epiphone factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the Thunderbird was designed by renowned automotive designer Ray Dietrich. Its unique design and powerful sound quickly set it apart from other bass guitars of its time, making it a favorite among rock musicians.

Since its introduction in 1963, the Thunderbird has been embraced by a wide range of artists, including Nikki Sixx, The Who, Kings of Leon, and Steely Dan. Its distinctive shape and tone have made it a staple in rock music for nearly five decades. Whether you’re listening to classic rock or modern hits, chances are you’ve heard the unmistakable sound of a Thunderbird bass.

The Epiphone Thunderbird E1 stays features a body made from solid mahogany, delivering a warm and resonant tone. The bolt-on neck is crafted from hard maple with a 34" scale length and SlimTaper profile, providing a comfortable playing experience.

The rosewood fingerboard with 1.73" nut width and a 12-inch radius make it ideal for fast and smooth playability all over the 20 medium jumbo frets.

Equipped with Epiphone TB Plus Bass Humbuckers, the Thunderbird E1 delivers a powerful, punchy sound with excellent clarity and sustain. The bass features independent volume controls for the neck and bridge pickups, along with a master tone control, allowing for precise tonal adjustments. The 3-point fully adjustable bridge and premium ratio tuners ensure reliable tuning stability, precise intonation, and solid resonance, making the Thunderbird E1 a dependable choice for both studio recordings and live performances.
