Originally a factory sunburst, the original guitar was customised by Jimi and featured hand-painted psychedelic graphics atop a dark Ebony finish. This guitar features a traditional Mahogany body, it’s well weighted and features that iconic Gibson power and sustain. As a tribute to Jimi’s incredible creativity, this guitar features an Ebony finish alongside a recreation of Jimi’s hand painted psychedelic graphics. This guitar is so iconic and the Epiphone team have done a great job at capturing the instruments true character.
With a comfortable one piece Mahogany neck this guitar allows for quick and easy movements. The Rounded C neck profile fills the hand perfectly and really works with you as you play. The Laurel fingerboard features Mother of Pearl dot inlays, a 43mm nut width, 22 frets and a 628.65mm scale length. The headstock also includes an Inspired by Gibson Custom logo and a reproduction of Jimi’s signature on the back of the ’67 style headstock.
A guitar this visually cool would be totally useless if it didn’t feature a pickup set up to the challenge. This instrument features a set of Gibson Custombucker pickups wired to CTS pots and a Mallory tone capacitor. They are extremely dynamic and responsive, allowing you to nail Jimi’s iconic tone as well as sculpt out your own signature sound. This guitar is finished off with a Maestro Vibrola tailpiece and a set of Epiphone Deluxe tuners, both of which allows for incredible stability and control.
