The Flying V has always been one pretty radical guitar, initially launched back in '58 as part of Gibson's attempt to embrace futuristic design, it's been a players favourite ever since.
The Epiphone Dave Mustaine Flying V Prophecy is for players looking to set new standards in speed, sound and technique. With a solid Mahogany body and 3A Flame Maple Veneer, this model is finished in a stunning Aged Dark Red Burst, it's fair to say it's a real eye catcher. It is brilliantly weighted and super resonant, perfect for cutting through with those heavy Thrash Metal riffs!
With a 24.75 Mahogany neck this Flying V feels comfortable and familiar, it boasts an Ebony fingerboard with a 43mm nut width, 24 medium jumbo frets and classic dot inlays. It’s super quick and easy to navigate, perfect for nailing those solos!
Modern humbucking tones come courtesy of a pair of Fishman Fluence humbuckers which deliver three distinct tonal voices. You have access to a warm PAF tone, a hot modern tone and a shimmering single coil tone, all of which can be accessed through the push/pull pots. Thanks to a pair of volumes controls alongside a master tone control you can really sculpt your sound to taste.
Finished off with a Tune-O-Matic bridge and Grover locking mini rotomatic tuners you can expect killer stability. Its a real powerhouse, this Flying V comes complete with a custom Epiphone hardcase for great protection at home and on the road.
