Construction and Materials: The foundation of this remarkable instrument lies in its carefully selected tonewoods. The one-piece Okoume neck provides stability and resonance, while the ebony fingerboard offers a smooth and responsive playing surface. The 12" fingerboard radius facilitates comfortable chording and effortless bending. The traditional even "C" neck profile provides a familiar and comfortable feel for a wide range of playing styles. A dovetail neck joint ensures optimal transfer of vibrations between the neck and body, contributing to the guitar's overall sustain and tonal richness.
The body is crafted with a solid carved maple top, providing brightness and clarity, complemented by a one-piece Okoume back and sides for warmth and resonance. This combination of tonewoods delivers a balanced and articulate tone with excellent projection. The body dimensions of 13" x 1 7/8" offer a comfortable playing experience.
Hardware and Electronics: The SB54/TV is equipped with high-quality hardware designed for both performance and aesthetics. The Faber TPWC-59NA tailpiece with locking studs enhances sustain and tuning stability. The Gotoh GE-104B-NI Relic bridge and Gotoh SD90 Relic tuners further contribute to the guitar's vintage vibe and reliable performance. Gold speed knobs add a touch of elegance.
The heart of the SB54/TV's sonic character lies in its Lollar pickups. A Lollar Staple P90 in the neck position delivers a clear and articulate tone with a distinct midrange growl. The Lollar Custom Aged/Wound Soapbar P90 in the bridge provides a powerful and dynamic tone with plenty of bite. These pickups are wired with Gavitt braided wire and connected to CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers, Sprague Orange Drop capacitors, and a Switchcraft output jack, ensuring a pure and unadulterated signal path. The Göldo 3-way switch provides seamless pickup selection.
Finishing Touches: The SB54/TV is adorned with elegant appointments, including ivoroid binding on the body and neck, pearl headstock logo and crown inlays, and a Truetone Vintage Gloss top coat finish. The antique nickel hardware and black plastic backplates further enhance the guitar's vintage aesthetic. D'addario NYXL strings (.010 - .046) are factory-installed, offering excellent tone and playability. The guitar comes with a hardshell case for safe storage and transport.
