The Antique Vintage Burst finish, applied with Eastman’s hand-applied antique varnish process—a six-step method inspired by their violin shop—results in a thinner, smoother layer than traditional lacquer, allowing for a more resonant, wide-open sound while showcasing the natural wood grain with a classic, aged look. In good condition with light signs of use, this guitar has a removable “Mabel” decal added to the pickguard, a personal touch that can be easily removed to restore its original appearance.
This SB55/v-SB features a one-piece Okoume neck with a 12" radius ebony fingerboard, 22 Jescar FW47104-P frets, and a 24 3/4" scale length, offering a comfortable, vintage-inspired feel with pearl dot inlays and white side dots for easy navigation. The Lollar ‘50s Spec Dog Ear P-90 pickup in the bridge position delivers vintage-inspired tones with exceptional clarity and a dynamic range, perfect for blues, rock, and jazz. Wired with Gavitt braided wire, CTS 500K no-load tone pot, and a .022 Sprague Orange Drop capacitor, it provides a bright, defined sound with less distortion, allowing for chordal articulation and playing subtleties to shine through. Antique nickel hardware, including a Faber TPWC-‘59 wraparound bridge and Faber Kluson-style tuners, ensures excellent intonation and tuning stability.
