How do they do it? D'Addario has developed exclusive wire coating machinery which allows us to fully control all critical variables in the coating process. This groundbreaking process draws wire from rod, anneals, cleans, coats, cures and spools in one continuous process ensuring adherence to extremely tight tolerances. Every spool of wire is tested with sophisticated laser refraction technology which measures coating concentricity to 10,000th's of an inch ensuring unmatched consistency.
This micro-fine coating is applied to wrap wire PRIOR to winding. Strings are wound normally producing an uncoated feel and tone that last at least 3 times longer.
