The Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HSS FR M is a high-performance electric guitar designed for fast, precise playing and versatile sound. Built with an alder body and a bolt-on maple neck, it delivers a balanced tone with a crisp attack. The neck features graphite-reinforcement rods that improve stability and reduce the risk of bending or warping due to temperature and humidity changes. Its speed neck profile is engineered for effortless movement up and down the fretboard, while the rolled fingerboard edges enhance playing comfort right out of the box.
This model includes a 12"-16" compound radius maple fingerboard, which flattens out toward the upper frets to accommodate both comfortable chord playing and high-speed soloing. It comes fitted with 22 jumbo frets that make bending and note articulation easier, especially during intense lead work. The heel-mounted truss rod adjustment provides convenient access for neck relief adjustments, allowing players to fine-tune their setup quickly without needing to remove the neck or pickguard.
For electronics, the San Dimas is equipped with a Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 humbucker in the bridge position, and two Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 single-coils in the middle and neck positions. These pickups are mounted directly to the body for enhanced resonance and sustain. The pickup combination delivers a wide tonal range, from aggressive, harmonically rich lead tones to clear and articulate cleans. The neck and middle pickups are ideal for achieving dynamic rhythm tones and classic single-coil clarity.
Control options include a five-way pickup selector switch, a master volume knob, and a no-load tone control. The no-load tone control acts like a standard tone knob through most of its range but completely removes itself from the circuit at the maximum setting, allowing the guitar’s natural tone to be heard without any tonal colouration. This is especially useful for players seeking maximum clarity and response.
The Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo bridge system provides precise pitch control and tuning stability. Whether performing dive-bombs or subtle vibrato, the bridge remains stable, allowing expressive techniques without sacrificing tuning.
