Description

Navigating the challenges of achieving consistent guitar tones across different performance settings becomes easier with the IR-2 in your rig. This compact, versatile pedal ensures you can deliver your signature sound directly to a house PA or recording setup whenever necessary. Offering 11 premium amp types paired with Celestion Digital IRs, the IR-2 allows instant sound tweaking through straightforward controls. Additionally, it features a mono/stereo loop for post-amp effects and a headphone jack for monitoring and quiet practice. With onboard USB-C, interfacing with music software and loading your favourite cabinet IRs becomes seamless.

The IR-2, a premium amp emulator and cabinet IR loader, delivers exceptional audio quality with 32-bit floating-point processing and a 96 kHz sampling rate. It features eleven different amp types and high-quality cabinet IRs from Celestion Digital. Its user interface includes Level, Gain, Bass, Middle, and Treble controls, along with an Ambience effect. The pedal supports mono input and stereo outputs, and its mono/stereo loop is ideal for patching in modulation, delay, and reverb effects after amp emulation. The headphone jack supports practice, and the USB-C port facilitates recording and audio playback via a computer or mobile device. Users can switch between two amp/cab tones using the pedal switch or an external footswitch, and the dedicated IR-2 IR Loader app (available for macOS and Windows) allows for the loading of custom cabinet IRs. The amp and cabinet sections can be independently toggled, and the pedal comes with a BOSS five-year warranty.

The IR-2 encapsulates the sounds of classic tube amps and mic'd speaker cabinets within a standard stompbox footprint. This design ensures studio-grade tones on quiet stages, during fly dates, recording gigs, and practice sessions. Backed by decades of BOSS tone expertise, every selection delivers expressive nuance and dynamic touch response akin to a real amp and cabinet. The advanced DSP, 32-bit floating point processing, and 96 kHz sampling rate contribute to the pedal’s top-notch audio quality.

The IR-2 provides eleven solid platforms that cover every guitar amp flavour, from famous tube combos to vintage and modern stacks. These include original BOSS amps like the high-gain Brown type derived from the Katana series. Each amp is paired with curated Celestion Digital IRs, allowing for immediate polished sounds. Users preferring their own cab IRs can load them via USB-C and the dedicated app. The amp types range from CLEAN, TWN, and TWEED to DIAMOND, CRUNCH, BRIT, HI-GAIN, SLDN, BROWN, MODDED, and RFIER, each paired with specific Celestion Digital IRs for optimal sound emulation.

Using the IR-2's intuitive interface, guitarists can select an amp type and tweak the sound with familiar amp-style controls. The Ambience knob adds natural spaciousness and depth. Users can connect other pedals to the IR-2's input, much like an amp. The send/return loop allows for mod, delay, and reverb effects to be patched in post-amp sound, with the TRS return jack supporting stereo operation.

The IR-2 greatly expands a pedalboard's versatility, providing a comprehensive guitar sound solution for practice, rehearsal, stage performance, and recording. For practice, the headphone jack delivers top-quality tones, whether at home or on the road, and the USB-C port supports audio playback from a computer or mobile device. On stage, the IR-2 ensures consistent tones in any venue by sending a studio-quality signal to a house PA system. Guitarists can switch between two amp/cab setups with the pedal or an external footswitch for more versatility. For recording, the USB-C connector sends the complete rig’s sound directly to recording software, whether adding tracks in a computer DAW or capturing inspiration on a smartphone. Audio can be monitored through headphones, negating the need for a separate audio interface.
