The Friedman Dirty Shelly is a single 12inch open back extension cabinet which utilises the legendary Celestion G12M-65 Creamback speaker. This iconic driver was originally developed by Celestion in the 1960s and offered a more aggressive (and louder) sound than had been available previously. Iconic musicians who used the Celestion Creamback included Jimmy Hendix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy back and, together, went on to define the sound of an era. This latest incarnation of the classic speaker has greater power-handling than the original G12M without losing its' distinctive characterful sound. This makes the speaker perfect for modern and classic amplifiers and sounds.
The Dirty Shelly cabinet from Friedman is constructed using Baltic Birch and built using tounge-and-groove construction. This handcrafted cabinet is built in the USA, perfect for the studio or, thanks to its solid construction, is also suited to the rigours of a life on the road. The solid brich construction and open-back design gives the Dirty Shelly superb frequency response with Bass and Mid that you would more typically associate with 4 x 12" cabinets.
Friedman's no-compromise approach to cabinet building is continued inside the cabinet. The use of oversized, 12-guage speaker wire to connect the speaker and terminal ensures lossless performance and accurate tonal reproduction.
