These days, blues players are a dime a dozen, and we’ve been blessed with some exceptional talents over the years, but only one can reign supreme as “King of the Blues”, and that guy is the one and only, B.B. King!

A man as much myth as musician, B.B. King is maybe the purest and most organic of all electric blues players, the elder statesman and guardian of the dark art of blues guitar. 

With a back catalogue of over 40 albums, you might think that it would be tough to highlight the most important, and it is, but then you come to “Live at the Regal” and you realise that you’ve stumbled upon one of the most iconic blues albums of all-time!

To commemorate this landmark album and celebrate the eternal genius of B.B. King, Gibson has released an incredible Murphy Lab take on B.B’s iconic “Live at the Regal” ES-335. 

Featuring a 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple body, with a solid Maple centreblock, this powerhouse ES-335 features an incredible Argentine Grey Sunburst finish. A stunning recreation of the guitar ordered by King back in 1959, it's a truly unique instrument! Expertly aged by the Murphy Lab, the finish and hardware are just impeccable, the realism and intricate nature of the ageing is on another level.

The solid Mahogany neck boasts an authentic ‘59 medium C-Shape profile, super comfortable for all those big bends and shimmering vibrato. The Indian Rosewood fingerboard is delicious and matches the body finish perfectly, a match made in heaven. 

A pair of unpotted Custombuckers deliver an incredible array of blues focused tones. Custombuckers have long been considered one of the most versatile and precise humbuckers on the market, and they put on a magnificent display here. As we’ve come to expect from B.B. King’s guitars, this ES-335 also benefits from a Varitone switch to increase your tonal options even further. In addition, a Bigsby B7 vibrato makes the Gibson Custom B.B. King “Live at the Regal” ES-335 the ultimate blues machine.
