New Release | Music Man Retro '70s StingRay!
Back in '76 Music Man released a bass that would become an instant classic, the Music Man StingRay. For 40 years it has been at the forefront of bass innovation and inspired some of the slickest grooves ever to hit the lower frequencies. I’m talking about Bernard Edwards, Tony Levin and Pino Palladino, the baddest of players!
In tribute to this icon, Music Man have just announced the release of the Retro ‘70s StingRay, a modern day recreation of the golden era of Music Man basses.
With a lush Ash body, the Retro ‘70s are available in Black, White and Sunburst, the very best of the classic bass finishes! These StingRays look a million dollars, and what’s even more important is that they back it up with serious playability and killer tone!
The Maple neck is a joy to play, with a 34" scale length and 7.5" radius it feels comfortable underhand and so smooth. 21 nickel frets, and a D shape profile make this a real player's bass. It delivers at both ends of the fretboard, whether you are kicking out monster riffs or experimenting on the treble side, the Music Man Retro ‘70s StingRay will knock it out of the park.
The Pre-Ernie Ball Music Man chrome plated bridge features vintage stainless steel saddles and a steel bridge plate, ensuring that real old school groove. The Retro ‘70s humbucker is pure vintage tone, with long Alnico 5 magnets and wound with original style single poly-nylon wire, it also boasts a 2 band active preamp, this thing vibes like the very best, smooth grooves all round.
