New Release | Gibson Elvis Acoustic Collection
It’s pretty safe to say that Elvis Presley was the original, undisputed king of Rock & Roll! Thanks to his incredible stage presence and instantly recognizable voice he quickly established himself as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century. To honour this great man our friends at Gibson are proud to present the Gibson Elvis collection of instruments. With an SJ-200 and Dove this collection perfectly captures the ethos and soul of Elvis’s playing. There are certain guitarists out there that are just instantly recognizable from even the smallest of details, Elvis is certainly one of those guys!
The new Gibson Elvis SJ-200 is based on a guitar that was given to Elvis as a gift at a recording session at RCA Studio B in the mid 1960s. Elvis can be seen using the guitar live on numerous occasions during the later years of his incredible career. Ultimately the guitar was given to his close friend and aide Marty Lacker in 1976. It features Maple back and sides aswell as a Sitka Spruce top, all of which is beautifully finished in a slick Ebony Nitrocellulose Lacquer. What an awesome piece!
The Elvis Dove also shares an interesting back story! It’s Based on a customized 1969 Gibson Dove that was gifted to Elvid by none other than his father, Vernon Presley! Elvis played this guitar regularly from 1971 right through till 1975 where Elvis gifted it mid performance to an astonished audience member in North Carolina! The guitar can famously be seen during Elvis’s iconic 1973 Aloha from Hawaii concert. It’s bright, punchy and perfect for Rock & Roll! Finished in Ebony it looks super slick, perfect for life on the road.
Both of these incredible guitars are available to Pre-Order from Peach Guitars right now, make sure to get your order placed quickly to avoid disappointment!
