Gretsch G6134T-59 White Penguin Relic
The Gretsch G6134T-59 White Penguin Relic is one of those incredible guitars that seamlessly manages to honour its rich heritage whilst pushing forward with modern vision and functionality. Inspired by the Golden Era of Gretsch production, the ‘50s and ‘60s, this White Penguin is one of Gretsch’s rarest birds.
The chambered Mahogany body is finished in authentic relic white, and with the signature banjo armrest, it looks every bit the classic Gretsch. There is some incredible lacquer checking on show here, it’s a real vintage inspired beaut. The Mahogany neck has a rich Ebony fingerboard and sports the Pearloid Thumbnail inlays, these inlays have some really intricate detailing in them and are a cut above standard Gretsch inlay work. With the standard U shape profile and a 12" radius, it's comfortable and really well balanced.
The Dual High Sensitive Filter'Tron humbuckers have incredible response and definition. They have a great dynamic range and really respond to the way you play, slick and subtle one second and roaring the next.
A Bigsby vibrato unit offers great stability and is perfect for all those country, jazz and blues licks. A real stunner, this guitar is a great example of timeless Gretsch design.
