With the Custom Shop '54 Telecaster they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
With the appearance of a vintage guitar this Custom Shop model benefits from all the playability and reliability of a brand new one. The select Ash body is finished in an Aged White Blonde nitro lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes.
The tinted, quarter-sawn Maple neck features a 9.5"radius for a superb playing action without any choking. The ‘54 style U shape and 21 6105 frets offers a really comfortable playing experience, prefect for a wide range of styles.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop 1954 Relic Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a hand-wound Loaded Nocaster pickup at the neck and a ’51 Nocaster at the bridge, it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
