Every once in a while a guitar will come along that perfectly embraces modern design, playability and tone, the end result being a guitar that is perfect for home, stage and studio. The PRS 408 Signature is one of those guitars.
Originally offered as a 100 unit limited run through the Private Stock division back in 2011, PRS released this second 400 piece run a year later through its core production line.
With a stunning Artist Grade Flame Maple top, finished in Fire Red Burst, the 408 looks every bit as good as it sounds. With a Mahogany back it offers incredible resonance and is perfectly weighted and balanced. A 22 fret Sinker Mahogany neck features a Rosewood fingerboard that proudly bears the classic bird inlays, mother of pearl outlines with Paua Heart birds offering a more premium variation.
With the Signature/408 treble and bass, this pickup configuration stems back to PRS early pickup experimentation in the early 1980's and provides stunning articulation and musical clarity. The Signature/408 electronics offer eight sounds via four pickup coils thanks to a simple but versatile switching system featuring mini toggle switches that provide numerous combinations of humbucking and (no volume loss!) singlecoil tones.
Used but in great condition, this is not only a real players guitar but a great piece for collectors too.
