One of the real highlights of the NAMM 2018 show came from the Gretsch stand, the Gretsch G6120TB-DE Duane Eddy signature 6-string bass. Once again the legendary "King of Twang" has teamed up with Gretsch to deliver a guitar of truly epic proportions!
Like a standard guitar, the G6120TB-DE is tuned E-e, unlike a standard guitar though it sits a whole octave down, deep, resonant and deliciously cutting. It really does open up a whole new world of tonal possibilities, this is more than just a bass, it's an incredible tool for creating beautiful chord/melody passages and adding texture to your sound.
The 3-piece Maple body is finished in the imperious Black Pearl, it's a lean, mean rockabilly machine. With '59 style trestle bracing, it's super stable and delivers a great natural tone. The neck features mother of pearl split block inlays, a brass nut, ebony fingerboard and a 30.3" scale length.
This guitar delivers all the vintage Gretsch tones you could need with two DynaSonic pickups, as used by Duane himself. With a rich, open tone and an enhanced dynamic range, these pickups are designed to be super sensitive to your right hand-picking style. With a Bigsby B6C tremolo you can add that subtle western vibrato without worrying about intonation and tuning stability.
Premier build quality and supreme tones, this is a real players guitar! It also comes with a signed Duane Eddy pickguard which we are currently waiting on delivery from Gretsch.
