The Fender Stratocaster is probably the most iconic guitar ever produced and the Fender Custom Shop '62 Stratocaster Relic is a fitting addition to this legendary line.
The lightweight Alder body is finished in a classic 3 Tone Sunburst relic nitro lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The relic finish gives the appearance of a guitar fresh from the road, authentically aged it looks the real deal.
The plain grain Maple neck features a 7.25" radius for a superb modern playing action without any choking. The '65 style Strat C shape and 21 frets offers a really comfortable playing experience, while the AAA grade Rosewood fingerboard adds a touch of luxury.
With a trio of handwound Fender Fat 50s pickups it delivers all the sweeping, versatile tones you would expect from a Strat. Rich and smooth, it's a premium Stratocaster tone. These pickups were handwound by Fender pickup master Josefina Campos, Josefina was apprentice to Fender legend Abigail Ybarra and knows all the secrets to unlock the tonal potential of any guitar.
