The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '60 NAMM Telecaster Journeyman Relic they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
With the appearance of a vintage guitar this Custom Shop model benefits from all the playability and reliability of a brand new one. The Alder body is finished in an incredible Aged Surf Green Journeyman finish. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The Quartersawn Flame Maple neck features a 9.5" radius for a superb playing action without any choking. The 60's style oval C shape and 21 Sanko 6105 frets offers a really comfortable playing experience, while the AAA grade Rosewood fingerboard adds a touch of luxury.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '60 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a hand-wound Twisted Tele' pickup at the neck and a Broadcaster at the bridge, it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
Yet another absolute stunner from the guys at the Fender Custom Shop!
